Mountain bike ride

Fun Posted on 2007-09-02 18:48

I love mountainbike riding in and around Canberra. When it’s Sunday, the weather is good, 18C and you can’t be arsed to hang out with people, go for a bike ride with your camera! Anyway here are some shots I took. 🙂

If you are wondering about my research, it’s all going swell. Just doing heaps of experiments and some reading although at the moment I’m not really bothered to browse through heaps of articles. That time will come!

Hyves

Computers Posted on 2007-08-28 17:17

Ok so I joined the social network Hyves at last as well. You know, if you do one thing why not the rest aye? 😉 Since Hyves is more of a Dutch idea it’ll keep my international friends separate from my Dutch friends. So it’s all good. Maybe even for the best 😛

Shit so that means I’m pro-active in the following areas:

– This weblog
– Picasa photos
– Facebook
– Hyves
– Quinnware forum
– My website (though not so much)
– Msn
– Google talk
– IRC channels
– Skype

O_o I wonder how long I can keep this up ha ha.

Facebook

Computers Posted on 2007-08-12 15:31

I’ve got a facebook account now so if you are reading this and realize you got one too but you’re not yet in my friends list, request me to be on your list! :o)

Register and search for my full name. Easy peasy.

At first I thought it was like myspace or like a dating site, but it’s not and quite a lot of fun too have your own page! The site is free of flashy animations unless you go out of your way to try and put that shit on it. The layout is pretty good too and you can drag the boxes around until you are satisfied. Just give it a go if you haven’t already. It’s also a nice place to discover your old friends from school or where you’ve previously lived!

See you there!

Alchemist live!

Music Posted on 2007-08-05 13:06

Yesterday I’ve been to my first gig in Australia! The Metal band Alchemist held a live performance in their home town Canberra at the uni bar (ANU). There were 3 support acts so it took a while before the moment came, but then when Alchemist went on stage it was absolutely awesome! I took some sneaky pics too which are pretty good despite the poor lighting. Alchemist played some new tunes for their upcoming album Tripsis. I thought they sounded great so I can’t wait to check out the album when they release it in a months time. I heard about Alchemist via some friends and bought their latest album Austral Alien which I love because it has these Australian themes in it. The tracks Alchemist played from that album that night were First Contact and Great Southern Wasteland. Since i’m not too familiar yet with each track from other albums they played I wasnt sure what they were called. I’m sure they must have played one or two tracks from Lunasphere as well. I must remind myself to get some ear plugs next time though but overall i loved the music and the atmosphere. So here’s to more metal gigs! beer
