Probably not a comeback

General news Posted on 2021-08-12 16:53

It has been over 10 years since I last used this blog and it has been converted over and over by my host One.com. Now it is running on WordPress 5.8. There is so much stuff I can do here, but I might not bother with it. This is just a post to see what happens.

In the coming period I will be updating the Geoverse.eu website with new content. The presentation still looks good imo. All the pages (after some tweaking) are still xhtml 1.1 compliant. I know there is html 5, maybe xhtml 5 now, but I can’t figure out if this really matters for me. Probably not, since I’m not planning any fancy (animated) stuff.

So, if you read this, great! 😀 But don’t get your hopes up. I disabled comments (I think…), because who still comments on blogs these days with twitter and the like. No… I will not start using twitter, but I’m happy to talk to you in person.

Stay healthy, stay sane during this COVID-19 pandemic.

The promised ticket

Travel Posted on 2007-01-23 22:11

I finally managed to book flight! It had to take so long because every cheap flight is booked full well into March and I couldnt wait that long. I have to start my PhD before March or I might get into trouble with my scholarship. Details are below:

When: Monday 12 February, 06:45
Where: Amsterdam/Schiphol

I fly to London first. Then I have to change airports and I get a direct flight London Heathrow – Sydney. Then I have to change flight to Canberra. Sounds pretty relaxing for a 24 hour trip huh? 😉 So…let the packing begin! 😛

Visa!!

General news Posted on 2007-01-17 00:56

Unbelievable but true! I got my visa at last! I have made arrangements with ANU that they’ll book a flight for me next week which means I’ll be gone soon! Looks like I better start packing my stuff and prepare for 24 hours of travelling! For any one I know who reads this, we’ll stay in contact and this blog finally will serve for what it was intended to serve for.

Before I leave, expect another post in which I’ll reveal the date, time and location of my departure. I currently dont know yet.

Medical examination

General news Posted on 2007-01-09 06:01

Today I had my medical examination in the radiological clinic for a chest x-ray and with a general practitioner. Funny man, who was so old fashined, he didnt have any digital apparatus! This was in Amsterdam, which wasnt too bad because I was able to sleep over at a friend’s place. It was nice seeing Amsterdam again. I havent been there a lot. The longest time I’ve been in Amsterdam was with Model United Nations, and back then I was still living in Italy. 😉 Apart from the fact that it cost me more than 160 Euro, there were no problems with my health. Not that I expected there to be anything wrong. Processing time could be up to 2 weeks and by that time I should have my visa. I cannot say anything definite yet when I will be leaving so hold your horses 🙂
